Our space-loving kids — and their space-loving parents (ahem) — are going want to do zero-G flips for the newly launched collection of Vans x Space sneakers in partnership with NASA, released in advance of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing next year. Whoa.

While you’re going to see a looooot of space-themed stuff next year (if you’d seen my inbox of pitches you’d know just how many), these will easily be a favorite. Because, Vans.

And right in time for the holidays, if you’ve got a future astronomer or astrophysicist on your list.

The gorgeously designed leather kicks come in three styles, including black high-top sk8 shoes and white high tops that mimic the textures of the original moon boots, complete with cool NASA patches celebrating Apollo 11 and Voyagers 1 and 2, respectively. But my favorite has to be the leather Vans x Space sneakers in firecracker orange with the subtle NASA logo printed on the side, and American flag patches at the heels.

They start at size 3.5 for boys (which equal a 5 in women’s) and run up to a men’s 13, though a lot of the larger sizes are already out of stock. Insert “giant step for mankind” large foot joke in here.
